Industrial tourism

The relatively recent history of Asturias tells us about an industrial power, mainly based on coal and steel production, which has been evaporated by the energy transition we are currently living in and by the increased global competition in developing countries.

The conversion of these spaces, one of the great outstanding challenges of the region. it has its greatest success in the great tourist attraction that the large factories, railway lines and mining wells pose for visitors who want to know the reality and hardness of the works that helped energize Asturias for almost two centuries.

Rural tourism

Traditionally isolated and facing a demanding climate, the rural areas of Asturias have developed lifestyles and models of society that today are a source of admiration, study and tourist interest, driven, once again, by the incomparable natural framework that surrounds them.
More and more travelers are devout of Asturian rural tourism, an option that has continued to grow in the variety of its offer and in which you will find tranquility, gastronomy, nature, adventure and tradition in equal parts.

Saint Jacob’s way

The Primitive Way, the oldest (and hardest) of the existing ones, part of the Capital of the Principality, Oviedo. It was inaugurated by the Asturian King Alfonso II himself, who transited it, as a sign of devotion, when the tomb of Santiago was discovered, in 813.

One of the characteristics most appreciated by pilgrims is the abundance of stretches without asphalt, fully melted in nature and with the ability to transport the traveler’s mind to medieval times when the Jacobean route goes back to us.

It is a little crowded road, of great landscape beauty and with a historical legacy far superior to that of the rest of the layouts.
